How’s the rack holding up? I read that you can remove from the passenger side and don’t need to remove the front differential
The rack is holding up great, no complaints! And no leaks.

I read that too, and spent several hours trying to snake the rack out of the passenger side. I finally gave up, dropped the front diff (which wasn't that difficult at all) and it came right out and the new one slid right in.

Did you follow a how to when dropping it? Looking for one now

Swapped my rack last year. Here is a quick write up. This is what I remember doing so just use it as a reference.
  • Jack up the front end and take off the wheels.
  • Locate and disconnect low pressure hose on rack to drain PS fluid.
  • Remove high pressure hose.
  • Secure the steering wheel with a seatbelt or steering wheel locking tool if you have one. Once the steering column is disconnected and free spinning, it’s very easy to bust your clock spring if you don’t secure your wheel. I speak from experience
  • Remove sway bar and end links from LCA
  • Break loose the alignment nut on the outer tie rod connection to the rack. Remove outer tie rods from LCA and then screw off from rack (this will make it that much easier to fish out the rack later)
  • Remove axle nut cotter pins and then axle nuts. Use bungees or spare jacks/stands to support the lower control arms/knuckles to prevent brake line damage. Push out axles.
  • Disconnect lower steering shaft. There is a little bolt you need to take off and then a little plastic guide. I marked the position of the guide with a paint marker to maintain the original location as best as possible when reinserting.
  • Remove cross member.
  • Support the front diff with a jack. Unbolt and drop it slowly.
  • Unbolt the old rack and fish it out.
  • Do everything in reverse and add new PS fluid.
  • Go get an alignment and you’re good as new.
Obviously, you’ll have to look up torque specs. Hopefully this gets you going down the right direction. Good luck man!
