I installed the AC coils by hand. I have quite a bit of experience with compressing coils and the AC coils are quite stiff, but not totally undoable by hand. What you will run into is that the stock used is too thick to close the locking pins on most hand compressors. Also, once on the shock, the coils are so close together that you have a hard time getting the compressors off. Once I figured out the trick to it, I could do it in a matter of a minute or two, but it took me a good 20 minutes to get the first one off.
