i got a second hand add a leaf "2 small leafs"
measured it before removing from the seller car, compared to my stock one
it had 2" extra which is ok
after installing it on my X it provided only 1.1"
what might be the problem?

to compensate the almost 1" loss
im thinking of adding back the stock lowest straight leaf
which i removed when adding the lift
is that ok? will it cause problems?

any other advice

thanks

Re adding the flat overload spring will technically give you less lift...

The overload leaf is on the bottom of the leaf pack, so it doesn't affect lift at all.

To the OP - you measured the lift on another vehicle, with different springs/tires? did it have a lift shackle?

How do you figure that?

To the OP, more than likely, those AALs are used and not providing a full 2" of lift. These are springs, you are not going to get 2" of lift out of them for life. That and your own stock leaf springs could be wearing out. It could be any number of combinations, but at the end of the day, I would bet money that one or all of the components is worn and tired.
You have a couple options. You can buy a new set of aftermarket leaf springs (OME, Alcan, Deaver etc) or you can go the less expensive route and buy extended shackles (Nisstec, PRG etc) and get a little more lift that way.

could always upgrade to the 2-4 inch lift bilsteins. From how I understand them it should help restore any original strength and/or lift you first had with a better "backbone".

i measured my car and the other car from the center of the wheel to the fender, so the tire size will not affect plus measurement done just before the swap, the other car have the stock shackle too

i doubt i have worn parts, i compared my car with another "almost agency"
(both stock), 1cm difference only

i think i will go for adjustable shackles
im afraid it will provide more than an inch and then the car will look leaned
to the front
