I haven't driven the X for a while, probably like 9 months. Started it a few times just to keep everything fluid. When I did take it for a drive the other day the steering was not easy like it used to be. It's almost like driving an old Buick without power steering. It did seem to get back to normal after driving it, but why was it so hard at first? Should I be looking to replace the power steering pump soon or what? I also have an issue with front end noise after getting up to around 25mph. Around that speed it sounds like I just got some new offroad tires put on. If anyone can tell me what the X is trying to say, please let me know.

It could be a front hub bearing gone bad.

check the PS fluid and see if its low.. is there a puddle under it? is the fluid brown or red or some other color?

could be the ps pump, but i'd think you would hear that at idle.. maybe not.
