I took a look at the POR15 web site for information of Aluminum application and found nothing(maybe I didn't look long enough) so I emailed them...Why you might think? Roof Rack needing some new and different surface coatings...the individual responded with this:

"You will need to use our Marine Clean and Metal Ready to clean and prep the surface and rinse with water after each application. When completely dry you would apply two thin coats of Por15".

Yep, you can use Por-15 on aluminum without a problem.

The problem with Por-15 is that it's UV sensitive, so you will need a top coat over the Por-15. It also doesn't look all that great when applied with a brush, so you might want to spray it.

On a side note, why por-15 for the rack? There are many other products that would work just as well and cost a lot less. Unless you really abuse your rack, even a couple cans of rattle can would look good.
