Tech is going to change the valve cover gaskets (they both are weeping out the back decently).

He said the oil is dripping down onto the upstream O2 sensor. He's going to pull the sensor and clean it. Suggested I replace it with a new one but it's practically new. Maybe 30k miles on it after a full replacement of both the cat & upstream and downstream O2 sensors.

I was trying to comprehend how this could happen since I know where it is located is outboard of the cat, nowhere near the valve covers.
Told him to just go ahead and replace the valve covers, clean the O2 sensor off and clear the code to see where we are.

Where are my techs at with 411 on this one? I'm skeptical but optimistic.
