So I don't know how many people do this...maybe I'm the only (sick) individual in the entire Xterra community who thinks this is fun/funny. What I do every once in a while is a pull around the parking lot and try to find the most ridiculous looking truck and then park next to it. Something I KNOW is not built for offroading...I think it looks rather funny having a built rig that is designed from its core for serious outdoor excursions next to something that was put together in 2 hours with parts from the Walmart Automotive section and some crazy glue. So i was totally miserable today...being new years day and all...and i was a bit hungover...but i decided to make a lap around the shoprite parking lot....and it was totally worth it...look what I found!

ooo..and the kicker was the front lights werent wired up... ;)

Feel free to Post up if you ever encounter anything like this and you feel like snapping a pic...try and get your rig in the shot as well...for increased comedic value ;)

do this all time, saw an fj the other day outside genaurdies backed in like wow im cool i have a stock yellow fj, so i look and see 4 teens smoking cigs and in snowboard clothes and they give me a dirty look so i back in next to the fj. Leave the store and come out and hold the door for 2 old people (like mega old walking .3mph) The snow board kids look at me and get in a camry and the 2 old people get in the fj. wtf.

Last summer I was at the drive-in. On the way back from the concession stand I see three large pick-ups (lifted, lights, mud tires etc) in a row with a bunch of youngins hanging out behind them. So I walk up and try to start a conversation. They didn't seem very friendly, but when I asked them if they went off road they looked at me like I was crazy and said no. I told them it was a waste and walked away. poseurs.

My rig may not be the biggest out there (compared to a lot of rigs I've run with) but at least every single piece is designed for function as well as form (besides the LEDs of course). ;)

I cant say that I can agree with this statement. A first gen sure, but not our X's, sure we can build them up to fit that description, but it was designed to get grocery's and carry a canoe to a lake.

I agree completely and I will quote myself.

You wont get an exact description of the intended uses of the vehicle(Xterra) in its stock form from Nissan because of policy and warranty reasons. You also wont get one from Xterra owners because it is totally subjective. The same goes for abuse. One owner's abuse is another owner's wear and tear.

Bottom line is, if you wheel your truck you will eventually break something. Why? Because you exceeded the limitations, and possibly the intended use of the vehicle/components that failed. If you desire to drive the vehicle as you had prior to or at the time of the failure, upgrading to more robust components is highly recommended.
Even if the manufacturer put the words "Off Road" on a vehicle, that doesn't mean diddly squat. Sure the X is more capable than others in its core design, but its niche is definitely not on off road romper.

I say we keep this thread going... everyone - your new mission is to go out and park next to a riDONKulous "4x4" and post up a pic of your X next to it! Do it, eh? DO IT!
^^^ Agreed.

For the last fw posters...too serious & too literal, dudes! This is a "for fun" thread. Let's have fun with. Redix pix is what we want. More pix please!
