The Northwest Overland Rally is coming up - 20-23 June in Plain, WA near Leavenworth. It's a blast and they give away an obscene amount of stuff at the bonfire every night. Lots of great rigs plus free beer!

Always seems like a rooftop tent or some form of car tent is required to go to these events.

I would feel out of place with my regular tent and 40-degree Coleman 1-season sleeping bag

$ 117.00 a pop...for one day ? That's more than Disneyland prices. Which also doesn't include food.

There are lots of ppl who show up with ground tents, like me for example, and it's $117 for 4 days plus free beer and lots of give-aways every night. Last year they gave away a winch and a rooftop tent, among other things

x2 on tons and fun, good people and free beer. I'm jealous of all the RTTs but we had no complaints last year.

I'm one of those on a ground tent. Also, the tickets are high at first, but after thinking about it, between the free drinks and food and raffles, it makes it a descent deal. There are also trail runs, events to keep kids entertained, and lots of fun like minded people. The area isn't half bad either,

Is it worth it for a day? I can only get over for Friday (drive over at o'dark thirty and spend the day)

Meh, depends, take a look at the schedule and see if there is anything you are really interested in. But i would say to stay the full day if you could, the raffles at the end are worth it, along with happy hours all over in the early evening.
