While driving to Chicago I started noticing when we hit a bump the dash lights would flicker and the engine would die for a sec then go on fine, this happened several times. Then hit another bump and engine died, dash lights are on for 4wd, oil, ABS, VDC off, slip and the gas gauge goes up. However, car will not crank, if I turn key I notice the radio goes off. Also, can't push brakes down, not sure if that is connected. When I hook up my scanner it will not connect to the car either. Any advice on what to start checking? Thanks for any help in advance.

Battery terminals ? Any connections around the battery would be my first look

Other vastly more knowledgeable folks will probably chime in, but I’ve had electrical problems while hitting bumps on prior vehicles, and my cables/terminal connections were corroded and worn

Hello, Thank you very much. I just have never seen that cause it to not connect to the OBD.

When my OBD scanner wouldn't connect, it was always the electronics micro fuse behind the glove box. That thing controls a lot of other stuff as well. I never check the fuse anymore, I just replace them.
