Hi,
I'm just joining your site and want to take a second to say what an awesome resource it is! I've been reading through the various posts and have already gained a wealth of information from your generously shared experiences.

I have a 2012 gen 2 Pro 4X that I'm starting to work on. Bought 33" Firestone Destination MT's yesterday and will do the melt mod this weekend so they will fit. Next will be a mini kit lift from PRG.

Question: I'm thinking while I'm at it with the mini lift, why not also add a shackle lift on the back shooting for another inch maybe inch and a half then crank the torsion bars to level the front. Will that lead to any other problems (need for longer brake lines, longer shocks, bump stop issues, etc.)? Any input much appreciated. Thanks!

Howdy from Boston! Where are you from?

Yes, because you'll have to install torsion bars in order to crank them in the first place! Front suspension on a 2012 is a coilover (first gens have torsion bars though). All you need is a spacer up front if you're shooting for a cheap lift. But up to 2" you shouldn't need to extend anything; anything above 3" is when you'll want to do that sort of thing.

Thanks for the welcomes! LI11X - what part of NY? I'm originally from Hyde Park. I spend 10 wonderful days in the 'Dacks every summer and hit Lewiston once or twice in the fall for the fishing.
