Hello from Indiana! I just purchased a new 2013 Xterra S. This will be my secondary vehicle used mostly for winter / utility use. I just adopted a golden retriever as well so I needed a fun, reliable vehicle for trips to the hardware store, veterinarian's office and road trips. Looking forward to having it until it no longer runs. My kids will probably learn how to drive in it!

I'm planning to install a class III hitch on it soon. I found plenty of DIY videos on this so it should be a very easy install. I also want to install fog lights as my Xterra did not come with them. This too seems like an easy install, coming with a replacement switch for the interior, but I haven't determined how the wiring will work. Are the fog lights pre-wired behind the bumper or do you need to run wiring to make this possible? If anyone has links to this info, I'd appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks and have a great weekend everyone!

Welcome!! The hitch install is very easy. As for the fog lights, yes they are pre-wired inside the bumper. If you buy the OEM kit it is just plug-n-play.
Thank you very much for the info. I just bought a HomeLink module on eBay which will be my first DIY project on the new Xterra.
