Hey all.
I just bought a 2006 Silver Lighting 4x4 Off Road model with the Rockford Fosgate system. I looked at the Toyota FJ cruiser but the Nissan's looks, price power, gas mileage, and turning radius were all better. I got the thing for invoice minus $1000 from Raceway Nissan. Mario with the internet group cut me the deal and treated me right. Let him know I sent you and get me a free gas fill up will ya'?
I'm an electrical engineer who worked for the US Navy for nearly 24 years before hanging them up as a Master Chief (E-9) a couple of years ago. I now work for the Department of Defense as an IT management specialist ... yeah, I'm one of those double dippers who served the country for better than two decades and walked into the same job for 70% of the pay.
Living out here in SoCal I'll have to get together with the Xterra club down here for some desert crawling lessons. I've been married for nearly 20 years and the wife and I love camping off the beaten trail. My pervious ride was a Honda CR-V which I took further off road than most people take their big H1's. The Xterra will let me get though that next desert valley further.
I plan on installing a nice Garmin GPS as their ain't no street signs out there and adding a Shrockworks package a couple of items at a time. I'm still not sure about a body or a suspension lift but it's still early days. I want a light bar full of KC's too. A Yakima loadwarrior up on top ought to get me close to finished.
I'm a bit of a stereo nerd and can help out with installation and technical questions once I break into the dash. I'm also a pretty good photographer and will share my talents will all.
I'm not afraid to turn a wrench but will need help from those here on which way to turn it! Just kidding. I will need help from those here with more experence on what works and what doesn't. I'm an old salt but I'm still learning.
My other ride is also a Nissan and therefore my handle here ...
