My handle on rx7club.com, going back to 2004, was 3genX. I built a 600hp 3rd gen RX-7, and they call my generation "Generation X". So I came up with 3genX. Plus, back in those days, if you could work an "X" into anything, you'd win 50 e-bucks! But none of that really matters cause the only reason I'm 3genX here is just to stay out ahead of what's to come! I will update my avatar sometime in the future, after they come out with the next X and I mod the *#$% out of it:iconbiggrin:

The Xterra is an exceptional vehicle, so you all must be pretty exceptional as well! I'm looking forward to becomming a part of your community. Hope to meet you all very soon.
ps - 2012 PRO-4x with some engine and suspension mods being considered.

Welcome! Lots of members in the Springs/Castle Rock/Denver area. You're close to Chris Hefty, who builds some killer sliders/skids/bumpers for our trucks - you'll see a lot of folks on the forum running his gear.

Keep an eye on the Mountain thread - lots of group trail runs organized here. Also, as you start your mods, don't hesitate to put your hand up for assistance - this crew is great about offering advice and help!

Look forward to meeting you on the trail!

Welcome! Sounds like maybe you know your way around a garage (and a web-forum) ... that RX7 in your avatar looks pretty clean, too - is that the build you referenced? Do you still have it?

If you're digging up VQ40 motor info, and looking for internal work to be done, do some research on a build done by Brutal and one done by rdrfronty. I think they're both members here, but may post more at Club Frontier.

Look forward to meeting you sometime.

Yes, that's the 7. I had to sell it a couple years ago, but I'll get her back someday. I was raised on a farm, so I learned how to turn a wrench at an early age. And I was baptized in web-forum fire on the rx7 forums, so I've developed some flame resistant skin, know how and when to call BS and can troll trolls all day long;) Thanks for steering me towards Brutal and rdrfronty!

So what did you think of your first wheeling trip this weekend? Good luck fighting off the mod bug now that you saw Buddy's and Mike's trucks!

Seemed like the stock Pro-4x handled itself well on the trails your ran with us.

Hope your son is feeling better by the way!

Have a good one,
Rocco

My son gets migraines and just has to sleep them off. He snoozed on the ride home and woke up all better. Thanks for asking! We really enjoyed the adventure and you all seem like great people, so can't wait to do it again! I got the mod bug bad. Even worse, actually- I got mod bug fever! Gonna try to be patient and learn as much as I can from meets and the forum before I jump in the deep end. I think the toughest decision for me will be whether or not I'm willing to cut fenders to fit bigger tires.

You can hardly tell they have been cut if done right, I wouldn't hesitate. With a lift and the melt mod you likely wont need any trimming unless you go up to 35's or bigger however. IMO 33's are big enough anyway.

Glad you had a good time!
