I'm going to clean my throttle body this weekend or next, and I have two questions about cleaning the MAF, which I would like to do at the same time.

1. Is it necessary?

2. If necessary, does anyone have any pictures or a how-to for it? For the cleaning portion, Muzikman wrote to spray it with MAF cleaner. I've found usmc's thread and another thread about cleaning the MAF, but I didn't see any specific pictures.

Thanks for any help.

Thank you for the advice. I ended up taking the MAF out to clean it, but it looked pristine so I didn't want to fix what wasn't broken.

I don't know if it's just my '08, but the MAF didn't seem to be a "pass through" type like a lot of the ones I've seen pictures of. The inlet to the MAF was nice and open, but the outlet was just small slits that didn't seem great for spraying into. Given that and how clean it was, I decided to leave it alone and just clean the throttle body.

Thanks again.
