So I have a shrockworks rear bumper I installed last night and it came with a small light with two small wires coming from it. How do I wire this to the wiring harness and not have an extra license plate light hanging somewhere behind the bumper?

by the OEM harness, do you mean everything from the quick disconnect on, including the two OEM lights?

I used the OEM harness & 1 OEM light. For the 2nd plug, I removed the bulb and wrapped the light clip in a lot of tape to keep stuff out of it. THE OEM harness is long enough to work and the OEM light looks better than the one that comes with the bumper IMO.

My OEM harness isn't long enough, and the OEM housing doesn't fit the available hole, the OEM light doesn't fit the housing that came with the bumper.

I will caution you that the DOT actually requires two bulbs to illuminate the back plate. If a cop or an inspector (if your state requires them) knows that bit of trivia who knows. I went with an LED frame on mine.

Depends on state. Here in Oregon the law does NOT require two lights for the plate. Just FYI.

And here's a really easy and cool guide called "so you want to customize your vehicle..." About lift laws etc..

Do you mean the hole in the plate bracket provided by Shrockworks ( which is 1 1/4" diameter ) or the hole in the bumper , which is slightly larger ( assuming you skip the bracket ) ?
