Intro Comments: This WAS my daily driver, I drive over 70 miles every day and I also frequently tow a 4,000 lb boat. I've tried to balance good road handling characteristics, improved towing, and good off road performance without killing my MPG too much. Now it is my toy, primarily used for offroading, with some towing thrown in the mix.

As she sits now:

Early on - After I installed BSM:

Got sick of things sliding around in the back of the X so i ordered a universal bed mat and trimmed it to fit. I made a large one for when the seats are folded down and a small one for when the seats are up. These things have a lot of grip and will definitely solve the problem.

Installed Nisstec Radflo OE lift with OME rear leaf springs. It rides fantastic... i couldn't be happier!

Before (33.5" at front fender, 33.5" at rear fender w/ 265/70R16 tires)

During

After (35" at front fender, 35.75" at rear fender w/ 265/70R16 tires)

Added towing mirrors. They do not look near as goofy in person as i thought they would.
More info/pics here: Second Generation Nissan Xterra Forums (2005+) - View Single Post - Awesome Find ... Xterra Towing Mirrors

Removed side steps, and front mud flaps (forgot to remove the rears while I had the wheels off - I'll do that next weekend)
Installed extra leaf to make my OME Medium leaf packs HD leaf packs, 1.25" Bora wheel spacers. Firestone Destination AT 265/75R16

Flexidip on the hood

New wheels and tires (Nitto Terra Grappler 285/75R16 on MB TKO's). Why in the world didn't I do this the first time???

Melt mod.
Yes, that's a softball - worked perfect

Installed Nisstec 1" top plate spacer, SPC UCA's and got my home made quick detach sliders mounted up.

More info here:
Quick Detach Slider/Steps Build - Second Generation Nissan Xterra Forums (2005+)

Installed PRG Diff cover
All buttoned up - put some fuel line on the brake line because it was pressed against the cover. I definitely don't want that rubbing through.

Skids Installed

Built a rear winch bumper

Hefty fabworks tube bumper & Smittybilt x2o comp winch

Thanks guys. It sounds funny, but those mats are one of the best mods I've done. Nothing slides around at all any more. That drove me crazy

Where did you get the universal bed mat? I've looked on Amazon and Ebay and they're damn expensive.. like $80, yikes!

Going to try Home Depot for cheaper material.

I bought it on Amazon for about $80 shipped. This is way better than the weather tech cargo liner. It does not slide at all and nothing slides on it. I used to have a carpet mat like you buy at HD and that sucked too imo. I discovered bed mats with my last pickup - I'll always run them from now on, pickup or suv, bedlined or not.

For me the point is not to protect the interior, but to keep things from sliding around.
