Intro Comments: I bought this truck new in 2005, it has spent its first 70k miles dealing with some of the most harsh conditions, roughest terrain, and being pushed to its limits daily. Yes, I'm talking about it's previous life as my wife's daily driver and baby hauler. So I call this Project Recovery, as I am bringing the X back to a better life!

if they are 33's you wont need a lift to make them fit just some trimming.
but if you are waiting for the lift so you dont trim to much than thats probably the smart way to approach it

I think it may have to deal with the rims he got as well. Pretty sure you can just melt mod to make the 33's fit, but with the rims it changes things.

Well done on the recovery! looks great! those tires look mean

Thanks guys, yeah, the offset of the rims stick em out more, so when turning they will probably hit the fender a lil. I just ordered Nisstec shackles (they looked the purdiest and sturdiest) and the Top Gun Customz front strut spacers. I figure this will get me where i want to be for now, and I can always upgrade to a real lift later on, if I decide I need it. I'll post some pics when i get everything installed!

If your going to be installing just shackles your leafs are going to most likely flatten pretty quickly. I would do an AAL as well, nice build so far and the tire/wheel combo is going to look BA!

Thanks guys, got the strut spacers in tonite, still have to get to the shackles, i'll keep an eye out for any sag, thanks for the heads up. Here's where we are so far. I havent done any trimming or the melt mod yet, and the rubbing is very minimal, hoping I'll get away with just the melt mod. Cant wait to get this finished and to the alignment shop so i can go wheelin. This thing looks awsome!

A lil help from the youngin' (he loves using the impact gun!)

I have a nisstec lift about 1.5 inch 1.75 inch lift but stock rims. Should I go with 285 or 275 I don't want to overload the front with heavy tires though and I dont do much of offroading

Well 285's fit with no lift and just a melt mod. And 285's and 275's fit on the stock wheels. It's up to you on what look you would like to have.

Thanks guys! Yup, the tires are 285/76-16's, basically 33's. Love the 285's, would do em' again if i did it all over again. I put a few more pics of my bodywork on pg 1. I also installed a set of the black headlights, which look awesome and i'm currently bedlining the grill, we will see how that works out, i'll post up a pic later. Here's the light for now:
