Well I'm here now and the X after many difficulties is now on the longest water crossing this board has ever seen. They assure me a snorkel isn't needed :geek: for the trip. Already been to a big winefest in Stuttgart and drank more wine(alchohol) than I have in the past six months. I'm not a big drinker so this was a rough night. I am going to have a big parking problems when it gets here. It's to tall even w/ Safari rack removed for the garages in Stuttgart and I will definately be filling the the area between the lines on the spaces. Maybe I'll get a pick of me flexing on a Smart car. :cyclopsani:

I'm welling to bet you'll be the only one and that everyone you run into, will want to know where to get one just like it.

MC...Not a Bad idea. :)

I do think there is already an Xterra in Germany. I can't remember if it was a new gen or not. Someone on XOC was talking about it.

I am giving thought to a smart car. They finally released them in the US.
Yeah it was on the other board some time ago, some Air Force guy I think. There's plenty of stock 1st Gen X's running around post here to. I'll have the only modded one around here though.
Take some international X pics! Octoberfest should be starting soon eh? That should be a real party! Later
Isn't there some kinda Octane difference in the gas over there that requires it to be retuned? Or do you just get US grades on base?
Sorry for the late reply. The grades on the gas measure a few tenths lower on the octane scale on post. I don't remember why though. I'm hoping my truck gets here before I leave for 45 days. I'm puttin around in a 90 Mercedes right now and it sucks. Butt on nthe pavement and no real power. It's one of those base models that never see our shores.
Denver Post reports smart cars coming to Colorado!
Just checkin in while I have the time. Still no truck yet :cwm21: . It'll probably show up after I leave for 45 days for work. :geek: Oh well. I have found a couple prospects for wheeling here with a local club. The pics I've seen look pretty good, alot of the areas are similar to Virginia. I started noticing alot of Jeeps, mercedes and Rovers with an excessive amount of dirt on them and that led me to their club.
Got my truck Wed. morning, WOOHOO!!! I've already freaked some Germans out by blasting past them on the Autobahn. It's a bit faster than the Defenders and Mercedes G-class 4x4 running around here. Not to mention alot bigger than they are used to. I've got to go thru the front end this weekend though as it feels a little softer than before. Need to make sure all the suspension pieces are torqued down as well as rig up the front license plate bracket for the euro tag. I could be thinking the nose is soft to justify coilovers though. :geek: I'm also finally getting the cv shafts forwarded from home in the states to here. Working on a trip early Dec. after I get back from TDY and 4x4 will be required.
ETA: These Smart cars seem to multiply like the plague here. There is a couple models not seen before though. One was a 4dr that was the Lincoln of Smart cars and a little Roadster that actually doesn't look to bad in person. I still want to drive over one though. :evil4:

How much is gas on/off base over there?
It's like 2.50 or more on post per gal. not sure off right now. The Stars and Stripes just had a story bringing to light how AAFES is making .90 per gallon profit right now because of their pricing policy.Stateside .14 cents per gallon is the max but usually it's more like .01 in competitive markets.
i would buy one for this purpose only!!
