Here's how I did the LOBO Mod. I was going to post it today.

The thing it is simple. It's just a Shelf that you can get from the Home Depot. I got one that is 16" wide and is originally 4' long. You need to get them to cut it down to 44" instead of the 42" like I did. I got it cut to short and so I had to struggle to get it installed. It won't go any where now as I have it held up by 4-200lbs D-rings. :D

It ran me about $30 bucks for the entire thing which isn't to bad. Might be a bit pricey for some but I think it's worth it. :D

Yeah it took me like 10 minutes just to get the driver side all hooked up. I ended up bending one of the metal rods out enough to get it to clip onto the hook.

looks good, and most importnatly, usefull. But I have one questions.

What happens when (heaven forbid), you have to hit the brakes hard at 80mph and you have stuff come flying forward? Is there a lip that will hold everything in? Will the D-rings hold?

I'm sure a jumper cable clamp would hurt the back of the head moving at 60mph. Jeez, even a penny moving that fast would give you a good whack.

There is a lip on the other side just like you see on the side facing you so nothing should come out. I've slammed on the brakes kind of hard already trying to see what would happen and had no issues. The rings are rated to hold a max of 200 lbs each so I could carry a max load of 800 pounds but the rack and the hooks would more then likely break before I reached that amount of weight any how.

We need to have this thing tested by the FHA for strength and durability, it's effects on Air Bag deployment in relation to the inertia caused by activation of the anti lock system when activated below 7 degrees on a Friday after two beers but before a session of sex. Totally Kiddng Dan, It's a cool Mod, I like the paper towel Rack. Problem is, I can think of too manythings to put up there!

You get the award,
