After browsing some of the threads where people had added side markers to their fender, bumpers, or mirrors I decided to do the same. I really liked the look of the Honda Pilot amber sidemarker mounted in the fender on our body style xterras but really didn't want to cut in to the fender. :( INSTEAD I opted for bumper mounted sidemarkers.

Using this thread here:

http://www.thenewx.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42164

I got the basic idea of how I wanted to wire these. Obviously I'm not messing with my peanut bulb running lights but this thread goes over the which wire is signal and such. I decided I wanted my markers to be TURN SIGNAL only so I tapped the SIGNAL WIRE with my marker light's positive wire.

then the black wire underneath of the signal wire is ground so I tapped it for my marker light's ground. Cleaned it all up and double checked to make sure the lights functioned properly and all was well.. Eventually I may do the mod from the above thread and have the running light blink as well.

on to the pics

Lights I chose are OEM Ford Raptor front marker lights from the bumper filler piece. (couldn't find any aftermarket lights that matched what I was looking for :( ) *** for those who may want to order some, I found group1autoparts.com to be the cheapest and they were still like $70 a piece

Rough location. These lights have 4 amber leds in them and the lense is designed to allow light to be visible from different angle rather than just one.

They look great! but holy $70 per light batman!
you're not lying!!!! I couldn't find any aftermarket lights I liked though :( AND TO TOP IT OFF I ordered a red one on accident... didn't realize though until I cut the baggy open and cut the plug off to test the light with a battery... So now I have a $70 REAR marker light as well that I can't return. I considered adding red markers to the rear plastics too but the tails are designed to emit some light out of the side so I probably won't. BUT! If anybody wants to do the red marker lights I'll sell them my red ford raptor marker light at a discounted price!! just p/m me

red Raptor marker light FS. Brand New. Message me

i have actually contemplated doing that since i got the xterra. probably doing a grille in the near future and most likely will do some amber leds in the "raptor"style. just have to figure out if i want to use the oem divets such as the above picture...or mount leds in the new grill backing that i use
