So it looks like I am going to need to replace my axle assembly. How do I determine what rear axle gear ratio is on my vehicle. Its a 2008 SE 4x4 auto.

Thanks. That's what I thought but the mechanic that looked at it said I had 3.69 gears. But from what I found that would go to a vehicle with MT. Since I need to replace it any reason I should change to another gear ratio.

3.69 only came in the m226 axle in MT, the c200 MT was 3.54. They are wrong, or you have a different axle swapped under your rig. The M226 has 12 bolts and looks like a d44 shape and the c200 has 8 and is symmetrical unlike the m226. Someone chime in here...
The Manual transmission did not and does not come with a C200 axle. The MT that came with 3:69 was the Offroad/Pro4X. The NON offroads STILL have M226 axles under them, they are just 3:54 instead of 3:69.

Yes, the frontier has others.

Whoops, you're right. My mistake, they came with m226 w/o lockers.

I like to have folks verify their own axle codes, as occasionally we have seen some discrepancies either on identification of model; or split of ratios based on model/year. Chances are very good that it's a 3.13:1 axle ... but for 100% completeness, the number that's a part of your axle code will tie to the ratio (assuming it still has stock/factory correct gears).

The axle ratio is on one of your info tags on the door-jamb of the driver's door. It'll have two letters and two numbers, if the numbers are 31, then you're set with the 3.13:1 axle to replace it. If you want to upgrade/change ratios, there's plenty of info on that in other threads.

Appreciate the info. I will definitely check the door tag when I get home. I'm pretty sure it is the 3.13. based on all I read. I bought this vehicle new so unless the factory did something weird based on the model it should be as stated.

I live in Maryland if anyone has a line on a rear axle assembly.

CA31? Either way, the 31 corresponds to the 3.13:1 ratio, like folks said.
