Does anyone have any LOUD horn recommendations without necessarily going for the full on air horn route? I saw an earlier post mentioning the Hella SuperTones but no real review or other models were noted.

thanks!

I bought a pair of Stiebel TM80 Magnums. They're much louder than the stock horn. You'll need a pair because having either one low or one high tone horn just doesn't cut it.

For 19 bucks, you can buy a pair (the Magnum Twins) here: http://www.hornsplusauto.com/.

I'm following this for SURE. The second day I had my new X I told myself that I had to find a way to replace that cheap horn. I've damn near had 2 accidents in under a month just because that horn is so BAD.

just bought one in black, how did you wire it up? Do you just tap existing wires?

I went down to the local ecology auto wrecking and yanked the first pair of decent looking AC-Delco dual tone horns I found off a 1987 Camaro. Any full size chevy car or truck has the same units. Makes it sound like a 4400 lb truck. It was cheap too ($10-$14 depending on your local price range).

I say buy a high power PA and just play the sound of a woman screaming or something.
