I ended up building one, it was not practical at all. limited departure angle and made a hell of a lot of noise when hitting minor bumps, just rattling in the receiver.

that being said, your better off just going with an aftermarket bumper for the same price line

Thanks Maillet282, My only reason for wanting to one would be on long trips. Running 35's I have no place for a spare.

I'm already pretty tall. Wouldn't that make me more top heavy? That tire and wheel are pretty heavy.

It would make you more top heavy but if you're loaded with gear for a long trip that would keep you your center of gravity lower so they would even out. People run with roof top tents (120+ lbs), gas/water Jerry cans, spare wheels, cargo on the roof. Unless you're on a real tippy trail it shouldn't be much of a difference.
