I bought my '06 S a year ago. Having about 15 years experience with Jeep Wranglers of all shapes and sizes, the modification bug is still alive and well. I drive my X as a daily driver, but I'll be looking for a few tips to make it stand out from the crowd. Thanks in advance for answering all the questions I'm sure to be asking.

Welcome...since you are not new to the mod bug, then you will understand the lack of control. For others, we end up having an intervention to help them understand...really, it is OK to remove perfectly good parts.

So, welcome and it sounds like you have liked the change to the X.

Absolutely. I haven't been able to convince my wife that this is normal behavior, but she just rolls her eyes and goes with it. I've been this way forever. Always enjoyed taking toys apart more than playing with them. "Some Assembly Required" is still music to my ears. I'm sure you guys can relate. although I REALLY have to show some restraint with the Xterra. This board is not going to be good for that.

thank you all for the warm welcome.

Just curious -- why the switch from Wrangler to the X. I'm now looking at both and am not sure which to go with.
actually I didn't really trade one for the other directly. It's kind of a long story but I've had various Wranglers and CJ's for the past 16 years. Some as daily drivers, some as off-roaders, some as third vehicles. Last year I had a '97 wrangler as a third vehicle and drove a Pontiac Vibe as a daily driver. I sold the wrangler to get some extra money to put toward a house. I'd wanted an Xterra since they first came out, and decided that if I was only going to have one vehicle that would be it.

If the 4 door Wrangler was around when I was trading in the Vibe I might be in one of those today. I think they are awesome.
