hey guys,
I've been loking for a 1st gen to accent the 2nd gen in the driveway.
I know this is 2gen forum , but I figured you most all had 1st Gen's
need 2nd car BAD
I found one close
it's a 2002 Nissan Xterra 4x4 V6-S/C
it looks stock.previous owner looks like they removed the mud flaps & tin can steps.also doesn't have what I know to be the rims that come on S\C's
there is 3 holes in the actual lower side or back panel.
anyway what type of stuff should I look for during inspection?
Hope to take it to dealer for checkout.
these are hard to find in FL & want to move fairly fast.
it has 50000 on it & body looks good.
After posting here I'm going to join CarFax to look there.
with the supercharger do I have to use
hi-octane93 ?
what do you think?
All opinions are very appreciated & needed!

yes, SC eats premium..
Mudflaps, aftrmkt wheels, steps gone? I'd take a good long look under it for signs of offroad fun before anything. IMO, a 5sp Gen1 w/ crawler gears and at least 3" of lift and 33's is a much better machine than what I've got now, for the type of wheeling I enjoy.
I say keep looking.. Good luck.

I don't think that is a supercharged model for the following reasons:

- Wrong rims. I believe those are the ones on the XE model.
- Interior - I think the SC's had a darker charcoal interior for the seats, and a brushed aluminum, or something like that, dash. And the gauges should be white.
- The SC emblem is not on the back of the truck.
- The roofrack bars are light gray; the SC's had dark gray bars like the SE's.
- The SC's had 17" wheels; the sticker on the door jam has stats for 16" wheels.

I could be wrong on these, but just throwing them out there.

yeh...I was thinking those things also , but after comparing VIN numbers on many X's on AutoTrader & ebay i found it to be S\C'd
THe M in the VIN appears to be the indicator

I had a 2002 Silver SC SE and Mike is correct in all his points.
I'd pass on this one, personally.
Any first Gen check the headers for cracks.
