(IM NOT SMART WITH CARS BUT I NEED HELP) I’ve been experiencing some weird stuff recently with my 06 Xterra, it has about 181k miles. The rpms have been jumping on its own. The problem first started about a month ago in the freeway, where I had to pull over because it felt like my car was “lagging” because the rpms would shoot up and then back down. After I got my car back off the freeway, I continued driving to see what was going on when my vdc off light came on, the slip light, and service engine. I have a friend who has a code reader and he told me to change the camshaft position sensor, which we did last week. After that it was working fine. Today, it started jumping rpms again, but no lights came on. I was almost hit by another car because mine wasn’t working (I was in a round about when this happened) My rpms were shooting up to 3000 then down under 1000. I then pulled over into a parking lot and put it in park then started texting my friend saying it was happening again, when my rpms again started shooting up, but no lights were on. This happens even when I’m steady on the gas. Any suggestions on what to do? I am no professional, and really need some opinions.
I have a video where Im not even pushing on the gas and it’s shooting itself up to 2000 and back down under 1000 but I guess I can only post pictures.

I got it from Orielly’s, not sure on the brand but i can check the box, it’s at my friends
You've said enough. Unless it's an OEM or Hitachi you really should replace it. There have been a lot of people here that installed a new one only for it to fail in a few weeks or less. Some never even work.
