Hello everyone,

my name is james holguin. I heard of this forum from dezertrangers.com . I actually don't have an X-terra but I do have a frontier . I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a motor swap specialist. specifically someone who has swapped a 3.3 and a nissa titan motor.

Unfortunately with this being a 2nd gen specific site you'll not find any 3.3L's here. Are you supercharged?
To my knowledge no one has done the 5.6 swap into a 1st gen... it has been done in a 2nd gen though.

Who built your suspension... looks like a lot more than the Chaos kit... Blitzkrieg?

Actually sombody has swapped the first gen engine with the V-8.... not sure if it was from a titan or whatever... but I hear it was a 1000000% harder to do with the first gen than with the second...

I dont have a website for you or anything but you might want to check out Nissan's project X 1 & 2... their first project truck was a first gen with the 3.3 liter engine and they swapped it with a V-8. their second project truck they used a second gen 4.0 liter and swapped in the titan engine. I talked to some of the nissan engineers at GONE MOAB, and got to see Project X 2. So it has been done but was said to be a major PITA.

Hey Guys thanx for the awesome welcome and useful info.

sorry it took a long time to reply.

My truck was built by Brian Kirby who builds and races class one's.

Strapped, the front suspension pulls 18in of wheel travel and un strapped about 21ish. Custom kirby six lug machined hubs. wilwood brakes. custom spindle and upper and lower a-arms . lower sub-frame (lower arms are about 12in apart) coilovers, triple bypasses, and a 2.0 hydraulic bump stop.

the rear is pulling 19in of travel w/ Deaver long travel leaf springs and custom 12in shackles(kirby). the rear end is also notched (which provides me w/ more up travel.) 2.5x16in king triple bypasses and 2.5 hydraulic bump stops.

I'm actually three linking my truck now so that top info (rear )is baised off the old truck pix and Dirt Alliance vid "change"
