So I've had my new X for a few weeks now and noticed that when I set the HVAC to floor only, I still get a fair amount of airflow coming out of the the 2 outer AC vents in the dash. Nothing from the center vents though. The floor vents have airlfow as intended.

Is this "normal" for an X? All the other vehicles I've owned hardly ever had any airflow to the dash vents when the HVAC was set to floor only.

I get it a little bit, but usually not enough to notice. It's hard to hold heat back, so by guess it's just bleeding past the flaps.

on mine the outer vents stay on unless I close them, no matter what setting I'm using. I think that this was a change in the '06 on.
Yeah, that's what I'm getting. I guess it comes with the "territory."

This is normal.. every vehicle has this to recirculate the air in the vehicle. if you dont want air coming out of the vents just hit the "recirc" button located next to the A/C button on the panel. this will adjust the vent door so no air comes thru the cowl.

Every vehicle manufacturer has this, so it is normal. Nothing to worry about.
