hahah trust me, i know the feeling. start with the steps. you think you might but you won't regret it
was worth it since I knew i'll be driving River through anything i deem possible for as long as possible. she did come with a Daystar 2"spacer and shackle lift when i bought her. be advised though that you should consider doing an appropriate mod so that you can actually align your truck after lifting. depending on alignment and lift, it can start destroying your tires. cam bolts and/or adjustable upper control arms when you can.
actually, my 2" daystar spacers are just sitting here. want them for the cost of shipping? PM me. they'll take some understanding to install but not hard and there should be more than enough on this site about installing spacers. or take it to a shop. spend the money on performance, tires, or your rear suspension.
That's an awesome offer and I appreciate it but I actually have a pair of PRG 2" spacers on a set of low mileage factory coils and a set of the PRG adjustable shackles in the garage as we speak. I just don't have the expendable capitol for the SPC UCAs and a set of 285s. SMH... Maybe once the wife is done with school.
As for the steps, that's the only way my youngest daughter can reach the rear door handles as it sits now. If I lifted it and pulled them I'd have to open her door all the time and I'm afraid I enjoy her self reliance too much haha!
Eventually though, after the wife is done with school and the money is freed up a bit, I'll be able to put a bit of money into these things. I've been watching for a set of the UCAs to come up for sale used, but when they do they are so close to new price is rather just get new ones. If I can find a set if them reasonable though, then I'll consider using my 2" stuff.
Waiting on the fog lamps and the fog light hex bolts and will get this started. Sorting out my electrical understanding to get the fog bypass w stalk done at the same time.
Also, water was leaking in through worn windshield seals so just had the windshield replaced. In addition to that, finally fixed the fsu .. no more light nor guessing how much fuel I have left. Finally
I had $150 eBay gift cards I got from work and since my headlights are really faded and ugly looking, I now have a new set of black bezel headlights arriving soon. They'll go well with the new fog lights that should be arriving round the same time.
Looking at some h9 yellow bulbs to go with them because fogs. Just fine tuning my understanding of the fog bypass that doesn't require messing with the ipdm or firewall and I'll be installing my new fog lights within the month
So yesterday this happened .. Swapped out my headlights with the Best Buy store credit I got for Christmas from work (bought 6 $25 eBay gift cards and got my headlights online). And finally installed my fog lights. It's insane the difference the headlights make .. look how old, yellow and faded the old ones are compared to the new ones. She's a whole new truck. Now working on my Infiniti switch for another version of the fog bypass that will include the 30second auto off for all lights feature
The difference with your new headlights is incredible. I wonder if your old set could be polished out? I've seen some horrid headlights come back from the dead with enough work. If nothing else, the internals might be a nice spare set for installing a retro kit. I know I wish I had a few extra pieces to practice with when I did mine.
Comparatively, the difference is night and day .. sorry but i had to. I can see so much better now that the haze is gone. I initially thought it was my bulbs and got a new set of Phillips crystal vision ultra that were so much better but still not good. When it'd rain at night it'd be like I didn't even have headlights. Now with doing the bypass on my fogs and running yellow h9s I'll have far more light than I'm accustomed to out there
I wasn't looking to ground there but maybe replace that wire or if anything just wrap it back up since it looks like its on its last rope. just wasnt sure what kind of wire i was looking at here.

Been hunting down this water leak for some time now. Did the extension on this ac condenser hose, resolved the passenger side leak. Then I noticed driver side leak. It wasn't bad and would apparently evaporate until. I added oe all weather mats that really seal the carpet and I guess that's why the water started to collected enough to be noticed. Anyways, I ripped out my whole driver side interior save the main dash and the seats .. tracked the leak from the foot well, behind the steering wheel, up the door seal, back into the a pillar, to the weld in the roof. At first I was thinking the windshield seal and had the windshield swapped. Still leaking so take it back and when removing the windshield molding we find what I'm told is a bad weld
JB Weld and resealing the window molding = good as new.
annoying that it was even a thing. but solved so :drink:
So .. i got a new radiator and a used volant. The Koyorad was brand new but dented during shipping. i "delicately" took out the dent as best I could, need to straighten out the fins with a radiator comb still, then get it tested. but seems like a win for $50
before
during
after
i then cleaned out the inside of my Volant airbox and purchased the 2" rubber pvc cap to shove in there after seeing how much mud and dirt had found it's way into this sealed box through the years.
after
also picked up a viaair 88. and now, what taunts me from my desk
The volant didn't come with any of the hardware save the screws for the top. Well, it did come with an extra goodie tossed in and neglected in the box .. a snorkel adapter. The snorkel adapter would have cost more than what i paid for whole volant setup I picked up so i can't gripe about anything.
The parts list is a little lacking and I am currently trying to sort out what pitch the bolts that secure the airbox to the body are. That, and gathering a proper 5/8 x 3.5' hose for the resonator.
Volant wasn't much help (understandably, purchased secondhand) instead offering I go online to their warranty section, submit a claim so that they can then send me a parts list. From the parts list, I would then select what I needed on the form and mail the sheet back with my credit card info so they can sell me the parts. I may have to go that route if i can't work around not having a MAF gasket by including several washers to button it down. But for bolts and hoses, not worth the time and wait to go through them. But you gotta imagine theres an easier way of selling these parts. Must be to deter from having to sell anything other than complete kits.
When i'm healthy and better informed on these bolts, she's finally going in.
Now, to snork or not to snork .. it's not even a question.

Not to photo copy your X :laughing6: but do you have a link for those headlights? I noticed the replacement on the passenger side of mine is filling up with water. Since the other side is yellowed pretty bad, I thought I might pick up a set of these since they look so good on your X.
