OK I keep going back and forth on this so I'm gonna get some feedback from my fellow X owners.

Currently I have the AC coils with AAL in the rear with Rancho shocks all the way around. The ride is OK but the rear bottoming out is getting rather old even with the AAL.

Since the OME lift is now available I'm considering ordering it to replace the AC stuff since it has a HD option and replaces the rear leafs altogether which should correct the bottoming out issue.

On the other side of my mind I want to get a GOBI rack that I've been wanting for a while. I want it to replace my factory one and Yakima that I mount on top. I can't keep it up there all the time as I still like to be able to park in the garage from time to time and I can't do that with the lift and yakima on top combo.

I also like the fact that I can use the space on top much more efficiently and overall it will lower the COG a little when stuff is up there. I also like the fact it has a floor to it so I can use it to haul things with out anything extra. I also want to get additional lights and a good place to mount CB and HAM antennas so this will be a good base for all of that.

Any feedback would be great!!

OK here goes IMHO: How much does the ride quality mean compared to the added convience of parking in the garage. I would also consider the usage of the rack compared to the substantial improvement in all around suspension quality.

Humm my vote goes to the suspension, that gets used ever time you drive and the rack perhaps won't.

In my selfish opinion, you should do the suspension. That way by the time you are ready to buy a roof rack you can compare the lowest possible profile rack I am near finishing for another member, to the Gobi. Pics soon.

As far as the rack is concerned, I don't want it just to fit in the garage. I intended to use it to free up space on the inside when I head out. If I go the gobi route it'll be the ranger variation which will still give me the clearance I need.

While I do have a lift, I know there are better options now then when I got the ac one which is why I'm considering the upgrade which I know it will be if I go that route.

Keep coming with the feedback as I appreciate it all.

OME FTW !! kschneider7, why aren't you a fan of OME stuff ? have you driven an Xterra with the OME kit ? i'm betting not...
That's a good bet, that's why I'm not a big fan! I have only driven my X with my PRG setup! I'm not putting down OME stuff! :blackeye:

I recommend the Gobi. My Gobi style rack provides so much space and ability to carry more gear in a easier and safer way it something I use all the time to store my Hi-Lift, shovels, ax, and gerry cans, not to mention other things for trips such as tents, chairs and pelican cases. And, the rack with last forever!

Thanks for the feedback from those who posted and voted. I think I'm gonna go with the lift at this time for a few reasons.

1. I don't have any weather proof boxes that I can stick on the rack so getting them no is more money
2. I'm still torn on which rack to get between the various vendors
3. My bonus wasn't as much as I was hoping so I'm gonna save some of it for bills and the lift will be cheaper right now for me and like someone said, it'll get used every day since it's my DD.

Thanks again.
