Anyone have trouble with the "m" shaped spring popping out of place. Mine has done it twice and is a bitch to put back in place. Thinking the spring is shot or the gas guy is pulling the door to far back.

I have had the same problem over and over again...had the spring replaces twice now...I find it happens moreso in the winter months when tempretures are below 0.

Pair of pliers. The spring has likely popped to the back with the clip and tucked around the hinge instead of resting on the clip. Put the back in first, you can do it with fingers, then use pliers pull the front part of the spring into place. I had to screw around with it a bit. Not a good design IMO. The rear part that holds the spring looks like it has a gap in it with 2 teeth on it.

Mine popped out, so my fuel door just kind of does its own thing while I am driving. Instead of putting another one of those stupid clips in, I am going to use some magnets.
