I respectfully disagree. Food quality is now so low that even eating the "perfect" diet, one run into nutrient deficiencies. Soil in the major US farming areas has been greatly depleted in minerals.

Certainly there ARE people who use supplements as a crutch of sorts, but IMO the consequences of various nutrient deficiencies..ie cancer etc...are such that the benefits of taking vitamins far outweigh any negatives including costs and any perception of weakness.
