Wow! I didn't realize how much a smashed up my front bumper skid. What a PITA to get the bracket off. I need to force it back into shape and order some new bushings.

My question. Has anyone tried to flip the front sway bar bracket upside down so the notch is on the bottom?

I didn't try it, but I don't see why you couldn't. Though, I am not sure how it would help.

But yes my skid plate bracket was bent up as well. I used a HUGE crecent wrench (about 18" long) and bent the backet back down so I could get to the bolts.

So your bushings went bad too? Were they causing a clunk in your front end?

My old bushings were kind of mushroomed at the ends (where it is open) causing the swaybar to hit the skidplate mount. I replaced the bushings about 5000 miles ago and the new ones look the same (just no clunking yet).

here is an old next to a new:

The old one had about 35K miles on it.
