These new headlights made by Freedom Retrofits are making their debut. You can view them here on their Instagram page.

They teamed up with a Canadian X owner (Instagram: @darren_explores) to develop a new set of headlights.

In the comments the company mentions that base price for the headlights are $650. With an optional led lightbar integrated into the headlight the price is 800$ plus tax.

Kind of pricey but may be worth it. What do y'all think? Might be one of the first legit aftermarket companies to make a reliable, durable, and quality retrofitted headlight.

Imagine all the lights you could add for $800
GIven the picture it appears there selling you the complete assembly - housing and all - which actually makes them not all that much more than a set of new OEM headlights I think? Not saying I am getting in line - but if I drove a lot at night I might consider it.

This is a great price, imo.
Consider doing this retrofit yourself.

New set of headlights: $200
Morimoto Bi-LED 2.0 universal kit: $400

Time and labor: Limitless

So for $650, you really can't go wrong.

I paid about 250 for OEM headlight housings

Scrolling through the posted pictures, I cannot help but to be impressed with the brightness of the new headlights.

I am curious why there is a hole towards the inner corner of the head light cover which lacks a protective cover.

I hate my dull dim headlights, but I'm not ready to spend $650 + shipping for this upgrade. I wish a company would simply offer a OEM replacement with a superior reflector than stock.

Keep the price around $150 per side and you would sell some parts.

Looks to me like an ordinary oem style housing painted black with a projector and led strip put in there.
Just like anyone else can do themselves.
The lens isn’t even back on in the pictures…….

As to this “hole”???
Are you talking about where the front turn signal bulb goes?
If so, they left it empty without putting the bulb back in after painting.

It’s 5,000,000,000,000% better than the a-spec (or whatever brand it is) option. That being said, I don’t like the look. I don’t understand why a company won’t just make a housing that looks stock but with a projector in it.

Nissan off-road vehicle owners...Complain there's a lack of aftermarket, someone brings something new to market, Nissan owners complain about the cost. We should embrace a new off-the-shelf lighting option, one that comes in at least $200 cheaper than the next closest competitor's cheapest projector headlights. If you all wanted a cheap off-roader, you should've just stuck with a Jeep, like every other Karen and Kyle out there.

The problem I have is companies make one small part then use cheap Chinese parts and lights. That is not worth the crazy price. I went to the companies website and can see nowhere where these parts are made.

A new company advertised a tidy tail on my motorcycle site. It was super expensive at around $100. They advertised it as made in the USA. After further investigation, the only thing made in the USA was the bracket. They used a cheap ebay $5 light. You can get the same light and a similar bracket for $20.

As stated above, though, this is not a crazy price for projectors. Source the parts yourself, you're going to get close to that price. Outsource to someone else, you'll definitely go higher.

IMO it is a crazy price if these parts are all Chinese made which I have to expect they are since I can find zero info on them.

Where do you think every other headlight out there is made? Do you think every single part on your X was made in the U.S.A. or Japan? I'll go with "no."
