The fact that it goes in reverse and drives okay tells you that it's not an oil pump issue, as the reverse line pressure needed is much higher than that for the forward gear circuit. It might be a bad forward clutch, possibly the retaining snap ring popped out of it's groove inside the drum? If you locate a factory service manual, there will be a symptom chart in the AT section that will help you determine the possible cause(s) and whether the trans needs to be removed or not to repair it. Inspect the shift cable to make sure a plastic bushing hasn't deteriorated or broke and fell out.
