I have an '11 pro 4x with the RF system. Any idea how much work is involved to uprade the head unit to the 2014-15 pro 4x model?
And/or costs?
I did it (http://www.thenewx.org/forum/showpost.php?p=2160794&postcount=14)
It's quite a lot of work. Wiring harness is totally different. You need to replace the whole dash panel around the radio and also steering controls.
2014 navigation units can be found on eBay for $250-500. The dash panel is harder to find, but I found it for $75. New steering controls are about $100.

Any chance you know the part # for the dash panel? I have a 2011 so I had to replace the entire panel with the metra one and it doesn't even come close to matching the dash color. I'd prefer to use a factory 2014+ panel and then just use the metra or schoshe trim ring around the oversize double din opening.

The big dash panel is 68259-9BF0C. You will also need the top cover/bin 68252-9BF0A, which is 3 mm narrower than in a 2009-2012, and a small bezel that attaches on top of the AC controls. This one is not sold separately and comes together with the AC controls block for 2008+ Titan or 2013+ Xterra/Frontier.

Nice work YuraX,

do you prefer the Metra kits better than scoche for X's? Just wondering why you only list Metra's?
Anybody else have feedback on these? I'm trying to decide between Scosche and Metra for an 8000NEX. Seems like some people are finding the Scosche is too small for double dins, but from the few pictures I've seen Scosche also looks better.

2015 Aftermarket Adaptors

Hello Yurax....Very interesting post. I have a 2015 Xterra Pro-4X with the Rockford nav system. I want to replace the hu with a pioneer aftermarket unit. Are you sure about what harnesses and adaptors that you quote?? Thank You.....

Well, I believe the information is correct, but of course I can't guarantee anything. If you are not sure, contact Metra/Scosche customer support.

You may not need the "USB retention adapter" for a 2015. Newer nav units come with a standard mini USB connector on the back instead of the proprietary one.

Recently I have been having cut out in the speakers and come to find out the stock wiring harness was spliced with the males plug. Took it apart and respliced did it and now all I get is power but no sound. Any advice or a diagram would be useful. Or where I can get a new stock harness.
