Today I was crossing the Sierras and a few times just as I crested hills my engine would rev from about 2k to 3k rpms but maintained speed. I assume the tranny was shifting at the same time but didn't feel it. The rpm increase seemed to stay until I gave it a little gas then everything went back to normal. Never felt this before in this truck or other autos. Is this normal? Some starting to go down hill assist thing? It felt more like it was as I went from uphill to flat.

Fluids were fine before the trip and will be double checked in the morning.

Thanks

how many miles on truck? have you checked the condition of your atf fluid doing the paper towel test? check the atf level...... Take a papaper towel and put the tip of dip stick on towel....watch for color and how it spreads on towel...I would also smell the atf fluid
