It has a medium to medium low tone and sounds nothing like stock.
I got the muffler off ebay for around $75. I just replaced the stock muffler
with the new one and kept the stock piping. I used 3" piping from the muffler
back b/c I thought the 2.5" pipe looked a little weak. Plus I wanted a side
exit instead of under the bumper. If you get the offset/offset 2.5", the piping
lines up perfectly. The cat-back kits I noticed seem to use 2.5" piping
anyways so I figured there wasn't a real need to switch out same sized piping
and pay a lot more money. The only benefit is obviously replacing the
scrunched stock Y-pipe. That was something I could live with. If you piece
together an exhaust, you can get the entire piping cat-back done at a shop
for around $100.
But even with changing out the muffler only, I did notice a difference. I
gained more top end.
