Hard to argue with this deal: 2008 NISSAN XTERRA 4.0L V6 Exhaust System Kit | RockAuto

I got one and bolted it up easily (except for old frozen bolts on the cats) yesterday. Sounds decent too.

Louder than stock, but not obnoxious.

I've had this exhaust installed a couple years now. If stock is a 1 loudness, then this exhaust is a 3 or so. It's more rust resistant than expected too.

That seems about right to me. Got to do some highway driving today and it drones a bit at 2500 RPM, but not too bad. Overall, I’m happy with it.

Just installed one of these on my rig today.
Install went well, but breaking one of my CAT studs added at least a couple of hours to the project.

Should have got the acetylene torch out to heat up all the nuts to break them free.
Instead I used a propane torch, and didn’t get them hot enough to break them free.

Probably would have helped to do penetrant on them for a couple of weeks prior.

Nobody local had m10x1 studs. Only m10x1.5. After about 10 attempts at welding 7/16” nuts to the studs (which usually works great) I finally drilled a 3/16” hole thru the middle of the stud. Welded another nut on, and it came out.

Re-threaded the cat to m10x1.5 and installed the new stud.

Everything else went well.

Cut the original exhaust tip off as it was too low and long for Moab ledges, and put a turn-down tip on it.

So far, doesn’t seem to loud, but I haven’t been over 55 yet.
Will know for sure on my way to GONEmoab next weekend.

Interesting... My son and I installed the same exhaust on our '06 X around the same time-frame but the tip rides a good bit higher on ours than your pic shows...

I think my bumper doesn’t extend as low as yours. Mine isn’t stock.

The bottom of the exhaust tip sits about 1/4" higher than the face of the spare tire on mine.
