The driver side window has always seemed to push further up than was needed, but recently its been making a sort of cracking noise when it gets to the top. Also if I put my hand on the window once its up i can move it around about an inch in each direction. Anyone else having this problem? I don't particuarly like the cracking noise when it shuts, thinking about swinging by the dealer.

Shouldn't have play in it like that. Get it fixed under warranty!
agreed.

On a side note: Driving down NJ turnpike on Tuesday morning and got a rock ding in the windshield. Nothing back, but pissed me off.

Insurance will replace the windshield for free, no deductible applies.
It is not that bad just a little dimple so I will leave it for now.

I got "a little dimple" in the tinted upper part of my windshield the 4th day I had the X. I was in the Desert so no way to get it repaired. It survived 3 days of mid teen temps so I though it was gonna be fine. A month later I now have a 2 piece windshield...

I have had problems with nissan windows before as well. in my altima. rear windows didnt like to roll up very fast at all, and there was lots of 'play' in them as well. for a 3 year old car, pretty disappointing.

so far so good on the X. sand in the windows will make them sound a bit crunchy for a few days ... but aside from that I got no complaints.

I question How you fit into an Altima? LOL The long seat track mod?
However, I have seen you drive OR, no question about how you got sand in the windows. :bounce:

My Maxima had the same issue. After a couple of years they came up with a better mechanism. If you get it replaced before they improve it, it may not break again until after the warranty.

Yea, and that is a special grease. I used something different on a KW and it melted the plastic parts. $200 mistake. So anyone doing this, be sure to use the Nissan Grease. Keep the plastic!

Mine's been doing it for a while. I guess I need to go over there and schedule myself a little visit. :D Maybe even get them to wash my truck for me.

driver side window

I just stopped by the dealer today to have them look at my driver side window. When it gets to the top, it clunks into the top of the door jamb. It's getting louder and clunkier by the day.

I just got the truck 2/23/06. They ordered a regulator. I hope that's all it is.

The service writer said he thought the top of the window was dirty, so he took it to the detailer and he washed the window. Haa, haa, what a nut. So, now with a clean window, it still makes too much noise when shutting.

Noisy Windows

I was having that same problem a lot of others are having with the new Xs, with the squeeky windows, a lot of moving around, and that god-awful cracking sound when they're rolled up all the way. Took it back to the dealership and they had to completely replace the regulators in my front windows. A day without my X, an eternity...no more window squeeks and creaks, priceless.
