No it reads it off the stick but I just put 250 songs on a 1 gig thumb drive.
But that will depend on what format you want I used wma at 85% of the highest bit rate forgot what bit I used.

i got the 6disk changer in mine, which is the only reason I'm not getting a new head-unit. but man I wish the stock unit had USB.

My X plays christian rock 90% of the time.......

I'm in a similar boat with the music, except I usually listen to all the Solid State records bands... I love Detroy the Runner, August Burns Red, Underoath, Norma Jean, etc...

I do however really like mewithoutYou, Showbread and some Project86, and they are all on T&N...

And as for the CD deck, yeah the USB functionality is a pretty sweet deal, but I can't wait for the day that I can get a car audio deck that has a removable hard drive in it, say around 5-10gb...

No I sure dont but thank you very much anyway...........and great write up by they way I'm sure a lot of Xers will find this hands in the feature.
