I'm Caleb, I have been looking around on the forum for the past few weeks while vehicle comparing and reading different articles and write ups and decided that an Xterra was what I wanted to purchase.

So I recently picked up an 06 Xterra with relatively low miles on it.

future plans with it: 3/2 lift, 285s, wheels, winch / winch mount, rola rack, some off road lights, etc...

I'm stationed at Buckley AFB and look forward to meets and possibly hitting some trails with you guys.

Welcome! You'll enjoy having your X! Lots of CO folks here, most of us are active with NORAC (click here for the thread).

First mod you should do on your '06 (if it hasn't been done already) is the radiator bypass, to avoid the dreaded SMOD - which will kill your transmission!

Keep an eye out for notices on local trail runs and NORAC meetings. Hope to meet you soon!

excellent, I'll have to search for the write up on that MOD. thanks for the heads up!

Welcome from Niwot!!! As James said you need to do the Radiator by pass for your 1st MOD.. Check out NORAC and let us know if you have any questions or need help, we will be doing some MOD days really soon.
sounds good! i look forward to meeting you guys and checking out NORAC.

I had a wrangler before this but sadly I lost it due to flooding. however, I have hit a few of the local trails around here.... left hand canyon, rampart range / Mt. Hermon

and I have ordered a map of Colorado's off roading trails from Stay the Trail so I look forward to exploring some trails. This summer I'd like to go check out MOAB and see what that's all about :)

Welcome from Longmont! :)
Funtreks makes some really good books for Colorado and Moab too, if you're not already familiar with them.

It's not looking very good for Left Hand being open this season or next due to the Floods.. Moab is a great place to go wheelin, goneMoab is coming up in May we've got quite a few guys going from NORAC..

Also check out the trail maps & descriptions on www.traildamage.com ... and welcome!

... if you do any towing or seriously hot weather driving (down to the SW in the summer) consider a secondary cooler with the bypass ... or just replace the radiator with a high-quality aftermarket drop-in, and avoid worrying about the issue.

YARRR! The rules wont be an issue.

I'm a regular poster on several forums so I am familiar with "basic forum etiquette"

and I'm a thread searcher before a thread creator anyways :D
