Anyone got a coverking dash cover? If so, what color did you go with in an OR. I'm thinking about a blue one to match the seat trim. But wonder if Grey to match the dash might not be a better option. Hmmmmm.

Notices that link in the Seat Cover thread. Pretty good price at $29.00

However - Living in AZ when your car / truck is parked in 115°+ heat some days, where the plastic gets hot enough to burn an egg - not just cook it. Dash cracking from the heat can be a problem. Covering it with one of these - Yes tacky pieces of fitted carpet protects from said Sun Burn.

Do the Sun shade things work also?

I have a grey dash cover from surprise.... dashcover.com.

Looks good, fits well and stops our Arizona sun from baking / drying out your dash which might eventually end up in your dash cracking.

A few suggestions...

Wash the dash cover in COLD water when you get it and let it dry in the sun for a bit but remove it while still fairly moist. While still moist, form fit it to your dash over night. The following day, use some velcro strips (available at Target) and tack down wherever the dash cover rolls up.

Tinted my windshield to prevent dash cracking, I have a 2009 X, still no cracking.... Should have tinted the windshield years ago nonetheless the heat rejection is amazing. I have 50%, I'd get 70% if you are worried about getting pulled over

Whoa.. didn't know these things still existed in 2021, thought it's a 1980's thing :D I hate those things with a passion. They trap hella dirt and it does look kind of tacky. Why not just use a sunshade if you're worried about the sun cracking the dash?

This is the instrument panel from a 2005 Nissan Titan.
My own cracked along the top drivers side .
The plastic was so brittle that it snapped as easy as a potato chip.

This is not to discredit Nissan in any way as the sun wrecks interiors in Georgia.
Anything done to lower dash temperatures or reflect uv rays is in our benefit.
