Well I have been sick of having a massive sub box sitting in the trunk of my car for forever now. I love the JL audio stealth box but it is way too expensive considering I already have 2 JL 12W3V3-2 in a JL sub box in the back already. I’m thinking of going completely fiberglass for the sub box. Never worked with fiberglass so this should be an interesting journey. I’m hoping I can document everything to be able to post an up to date tutorial on how to complete the project for people like me who would love a full step by step for the tutorial on making the box. It won’t be fun trying to calculate the volume but I’ll see if I can do some magic to get as close to requirements as possible. Btw if anyone has interest in possibly buying one of the subs (they’re pretty much brand new) or the JL box, just hit me up. I’m sure I’ll just stick with the one once the box is complete. Wish me luck, I’ll need it!

I built one out of 3/4" MDF sounds great and doesn't take up a lot of room I have a 10" kicker in it. It fits in on the pass. side of the cargo area between the wheel well and the door and leaves the under floor storage accessible. My amp is mounted on the side facing the seat and I have an inverter mounted on top of the box.

Do you mind uploading a picture? I was thinking of doing half 3/4 mdf and half fiberglass so it can be a perfect fit for the side cargo area.

The box is ported on the short side where the amp is mounted the port is aimed down at the floor. I used Gorilla wood glue and deck screws to assemble the box. I have had it in there for about 3 years now still as solid as the day I built it.

Oh wow, nice! Looks like it saves so much trunk space. I can’t wait to have a sub box that doesn’t just slide around the back.
Thanks I actually went a few years with no sub before I came up with this box due to not wanting a box taking up all of what little cargo area there is. With this design I can still fit all my camping gear for four.
