these would be sweet if they were led and sealed without the clear cover over the top of them so it would look molded to the truck or made of metal, most of the people here take their truck off road something more sturdy than abs plastic could be cool

I'm considering doing that to mine - it seems like the covers are just sealed on, no tabs or anything, so just a quick bake in the oven and it'll peel off nicely. Just have to worry about sealing around the inner light housings, and the backs (the fit for the light sockets is NOT great - had to force some of them in, nearly resorted to filing in one spot).

I even have the capacity to recast them in aluminum...if someone sends me a donor set

Stock looking assemblies with Leds with resistors built in so they are plug and play maybe. As they are now they look like what the kids who drive civics with the fart exhausts would put on their cars.

Terrance, I believe they're sonically welded, but I could be wrong. You can't bake apart like headlights.

You can dremel the back housing off and make LED PCBAs like I did on my frontier taillights. Then just use epoxy to glue the housing back on. I used 5050 LEDs and wire one circuit of the LEDs as tails, and the other two circuits as brake lights. Turned out awesome.

While i understand your feelings on this product (and MOST of their products), but that really isn't an option considering they are a paying forum sponsor arn't they?
No, but they could market better stuff that WE actually would put into use. The winch thread was good and showed they were on the right track but to revive this thread just to say "Sorry, we're out" while none of us showed interest in this ricer product is a moot point. They might as well just let this thread die.
