Does it sound like a cricket and does it mostly do it when it's cold out?
I get the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes muzikman, that sounds about right.
I lived with the noise all last winter. It hasn't started this winter yet, but as soon as it does, that inside door panel is coming out. It drove me nuts!
Thank god I am not the only one who has heard it. No one else who has ridden in my X seems to hear it and it is driving me f%cking nuts!
I'm getting tired of ALL of the creeks, rattles, squeeks from my X (the truck, not the wife).
I know about the hood squeek, never have been able to get rid of that, it pisses me off. But now it feels and sounds like I am driving a pickup. The rear seems to clunk alot over very minor rough/paved roads. And then the window scraping cause there is dirt on the felt that I need to clean.
I love my truck and would never give it up, but damn the noises make me feel like I am driving a 2nd rate vehicle and I know that I am not!!
See, and I'd argue that all those noises just mean you're actually USING your X.
Went to the dealer for new serpentine belt...and after he TIGHTENED the bolt holding the door hinge to the body of truck.(it was loose ) ..It seems to have stoped..MAYBE they are somehow connected but who knows..

I cant help but think if i paid as much attention to my life (and Wife!) as i do with my toys..What my life would be like??

Even after greasing the hood latch?
I'm telling you, turn your hood stops a couple of times counter clockwise to bring them farther from the hood itself. This will create a tighter seal and should stop that [email protected]#!% squeak from happening. Also, greasing the hood latch ensures a very quiet ride.
I haven't had that passenger side door rattle/creak yet. You guys are scaring with this stuff. There's nothing worse than a new car/truck that sounds like a 10 year old GMC! :blackeye:
Bueller44 have you put felt pads on your hood stops? if you haven't give it a try (also turn your turn your hoodstops) it worked for me(after it drove me crazy for 3 months)
i'm having the same thing. i have a brand new S 4x4 and both the driver side and passenger side front door/window have a rattle. It sounds like two telegraph's talking to each other.

I had it into thr dealer in Irving Texas and they put in some foam shims. The driver's side seems better but the passenger side is still bad.

It seems like its coming from the partition between the front and rear windows where the seat belt comes from. I have searched everywhere for it but no luck.

Anyone having the same issue?

cheers...

Had the sqeaking and solved my problem.
On both sides of the X next to the frame rails,
have bronze colored spacer/ weights i guess..?
I removed them and have had no noise since!

Does it happen when the windows are about halfway down? Mine did that and I took it to the dealer. I read that there was a TSB on it, although I'm not sure it was actually on the X. They replaced the window regulators and it seems to have stopped, although it's been cold so I haven't had my window's open much
I havent heard any of the noises you guys are talking about. Maybe it has something to do with how you are when your using the truck? Where your leaning all the time, how you get in and out? The only thing i get noise from is m driver seat when i get in i always push back on it to adjust my body. But those noises are a result of how i treat the seat.
I have a wicked noise like that, but in my back door. I thought it was the rear wiper. But I don't think so. It even does it when I shut it. It drives me insane. Especially over bumps.

Well, I don't know what you mean by "a wicked noise like that", but if it's a squeak, and coming from the rear hatch, it may be a loose clip on the door's interior trim. My Lift Gate Leak thread shows where the clips are located. With the gate open, you should be able to tell if any of them are loose.

Thank you....yes, roughly translated "wicked noise like that" from someone from MA, means a "squeak" to everyone else. :laughing6:

I'm going to check out your thread, then go check it out on the X....and I swear, if your information fixes it, I will be forever indebted to you!!! Also, you you have trouble with the hydraulics (on the rear door) whe it's cold? They don't seem to hold the door open as far as when its warm out.

....God bless!!! Thanks for the info!!!
