hi all

I am considering getting 2008 X-terra as a DD
and where I live we don't have anything else but sand dunes
also the OffRoad model is not offered in the Middle East ( no lockers on other models as you know )

so
how do you compare the Auto Vs Manual in wheeling ?
can I install cruise control later? ( Manual geared X-terras aren't offered with Cruise )
and what are the most common problems in the latest models 2007-2008

thanks

Well, where are you located? I have a manual and it has cruise control.
but if it doesn't come, I believe u can wire it in??? I'm not 100% if its possible.
if it's only sand dunes then manual or auto won't matter, auto is only good when rock crawling, if your on sand dune, u'll be going at least 50mph. wouldn't worry about it.

my advise, go with what you feel more comfortable with.

ummmm

here in the States, it might be different in Saudi Arabia.

I have the base X in manual, I think I have a Dana44 in the back????? front I don't know.

I think the most common diff's are c200 and m226 on the X's, just don't know what models they are on.

and just be careful with the front diff, they love to fail

I don't know, I think it's a modified Dana44. I am not sure if there are any locked non-or X's on this site.

the nissan "d44" is NOT a D44...it's an M226. These are found on the OR model and the Manual Transmission models. The Automatic X, S, and SE is the C200.

These are the rear diffs only, front is different.

Can I technically put an e locker in it, since I share the same rear diff?

Just had to look at the MidEast Nissan brochure...

291HP & 41.7kg-m of torque (298ft-lb by my conversion) vs the US spec 263hp/281torque. I wonder what's different...possibly no cat but that couldn't give you that much of bump, could it?
