Just came from the local shop. What recovery strap would be better to buy? They are both made by Erickson.

3" x 20' - rated at 27,000lbs - $42.99

or

2" x 30' - rated at 18,000lbs - $49.99

I'd go for the longer. 10' can make all the difference when pulling someone out.

I've been using a $40 2" x 30' Keeper strap that I bought at Home Depot for many years now and it still looks good. I've pulled and gotten pulled out many times with that strap.

:clown: 100 ft is too long 10 ft is too short--

--30 ft MINIMUM is the most practible, to many times, especially in water, a few extra feet can be real handy !!

All my vehicles have a 3x30. It is a good size and strength.

I know that everyone is against straps with hooks but I also carry a cheap 15'-18' X 2" "Tow Strap" with hooks for those "easy pulls", you know when some idiot spins off the road in the snow.
