Over the last couple of days my 2005 X (4x2) has an annoying chirp or squeak coming from underneath it when accelerating and braking. It does not make the sound when in neutral or park and when revving the engine. Only when in gear and accelerating and braking. Any thoughts? I am taking it to a relative’s mechanic friend for a look this evening. I would do it myself but my 14 month old son thinks it is not that important. Any help would be great.

I had a similar sound while hard accelerating, turned out to be the tensioner pulley. never had it on the braking though...

I don't think it is the tensioner, I just replaced it less then 2k miles ago along with a gatorback belt, does not make any noise when in neutral. Something in the tranny or possible U-joint issue.
