Hey folks,
I'm looking for anyone that has advice on changing the front diff and 6sp MT oil. I searched the forum and found that a few of you out there have done it, but not a lot of info on the procedure. ...any gotchyas? ...any advice? ...any special tools?
I'm going to put some Red Line Shockproof Lightweight in the diff in hopes of protecting it from the dreaded "blown front diff" syndrome. I figure that spending a few bucks on some really good oil as insurance is worth it. While I am at it why not upgrade the oil in the tranny too? I'm thinking the RL 75W-90ns would be the best. Everyone like a slick stick.
I've already put the heavyweight Shockproof stuff in my D44 rear. Call me crazy, but it makes me feel better. Plus, in CA I need every fuel-saving advantage I can get. Everyone is talking $4+ /gal for the summer!!!!
Any advice is appreciated.
